The Weakness of God

Did our God have a weakness?

Jesus was crucified through weakness and it became foolishness to the perishing world. Jesus took upon himself our weak and infirm nature.  His weakness and foolishness of ours was imputed to him so that we might live. Our Heavenly Father took this on out of His love for us.

Jesus was made capable of suffering, and of laying down willingly his life for us on the cross.

But, he was raised from the grave, He is alive and He lives again by the divine power of God. This Spirit who raised Christ Jesus from the dead dwells in each of us.

But, we are to be strong in our weakness.  As we are to be weak in him, like Him, being liable to sufferings, undergoing sufferings by his example; but we shall live with him by the power of God, of which also we have living within us.

And we have access to the mind of Christ, in our soul.

The apostle Paul taught us, how to look at being strong and to understand it as part of our spiritual life.

“And He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you for power is perfected in weakness.’

Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.  Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; or when I am weak, then I am strong” (2Corinthains 12:9-10).

Paul learned that God’s grace is sufficient for each and every one of us, for Jesus perfects His power in our weakness when we humble ourselves and come to Him, He will be for our power, strength and contentment.

This is an important point to remember, it is through weaknesses, that allows the power of Christ to dwell in us, for when we are weak, then the strength of Jesus Christ is our strength.

The Psalms are filled with scripture that speak to strength that comes through the LORD. One in particular is Psalm 73:26:

“For because our flesh and heart are weak and will fail us, it is God who will Be the Strength of our heart and soul and He will Be our portion forever.”

He became weak to take on our weaknesses, our sufferings so that we would become strong in Him.

Only through Christ can we become content in our condition and be strong in it!
