One day we were traveling in a train towards Rayagada, it is in the State of Odessa (Orissa). A Christian brother asked me why I was taking so much risk to reach Rayagada for gospel program. Some Online Services use the information we collect in construction-jobs.info -specific ways.. He said, “Do you know that there was an Anti Conversion Bill passed by the Odessa government; you will be in the problem, why do you knowingly invite suffering?”
Yes, it is true that there will be a problem, but as servants of God we need to preach the gospel in all the places to reach the unreached with the gospel of Jesus Christ, for this very reason we are called to overcome every hard situation. “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body (2nd Cor 4:8-10).”
Lord Jesus Christ was called Suffering Servant of God in the Holy Bible, but people wanted a conquering hero, not a suffering servant. Because of this very reason, many did not accept Him, but went astray. It is easy to make the same mistake today. We assume God will work through the power structures of our day, so we spend lot of time and energy trying to influence them. But the truth is, God often prefers to use the weak and the lowly to accomplish His purposes in the world (Luke 1:46-55).
We are called to suffer for God and the Gospel: “For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in Him, but also suffer for Him (Phil 1:29).” Sometimes God brings pain to His followers, not because He’s mean or enjoys watching people suffer; rather, He knows that the hard road is often the only way to change our hearts and lives for the better.
As a suffering servant of God, Christ finished His Mission of Salvation and handed it over to us. As a servant of Christ we need to suffer that the same task be continued in this world for the salvation of all mankind (2nd Tim 2:10). “By the grace of God, who called us to His eternal glory in Christ, after we have suffered a little while, will Himself restore us and make us strong, firm, and steadfast. To Him be the glory and the power forever and ever, Amen (1st Peter 5:10-11).”
